There's nothing quite like the city of Havana. The Cuban capital is home to one of the most idyllic sea views in the Malecón, a vibrant and pulsating creative scene which sits harmoniously next to icons including the Hotel Nacional and El Floridita, and, of course, some of the finest Cuban cigar brands the world has ever known.
But what we appreciate the most whenever we are lucky enough to visit? The people. They have a richness to them, a zest for life and an energy unrivalled. Music flows through every fibre of their being, regardless of the age, background, race or gender. The love for the arts, their culture, their home—in spite of turmoil and hardship—is something one can only admire. Whilst people land here from all walks of life, it is understandable why so many end up staying for longer than intended. Life here is just unlike anything else. It is intense in every sense, and as magical as it is a struggle. But, like all the best places in the world, the locals make it what it is, and some of the perfect examples are the girls at El Bleco — all of whom have different backgrounds, stories, styles but an energy you can't help but be drawn to. We spent the day with Ann, Amy and Leslye as they showed us around their city, cigars in hand.
